About Me
First things first, my name rhymes with Russian.
I am the science teacher here at Bluffs Community High School. I am originally from the small town, Golden, IL. Like Bluffs, there wasn't much to do there, so I started playing with science as far back as I can remember. Mostly, I just played with fire, but actually not much has changed since then. I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2011 with a bachelors degree in Chemistry and a minor in secondary education. I student taught in both Urbana and Decatur, IL and was the Chemistry instructor for the Upward Bound College Prep Academy Summer 2011 program in Champaign, IL. Prior to being hired at Bluffs, I was a substitute teacher at both Brown County and Camp Point Central High School. My schedule doesn't give me much free time, but when I get the opportunity I enjoy watching Science-Fiction movies and TV shows. I enjoy theater and acting and was part of the Quincy Community Theater and also shot a commercial for some local Quincy businesses. I was surprised to see how many lab resources I have available to me in the classroom, and I look forward to trying to utilize them to give you a hands-on inquiry -based approach to science. I'm very excited about working here with the staff, students, and parents of the Bluffs community. JOKE TIME
