Who We Are.
The Foundation is a trust fund established in 1990, made possible by the large bequest of Mr. Leroy Castle.  The Bank of Bluffs serves as Trustee.
The Foundationʼs mission is to assist in developing and increasing the capabilities of the school district for the education of and services to its students, alumni, and citizens of the district.
The funds from the State and local resources are often not sufficient to cover additional materials and programs needed to educate our children. The Foundation serves as a supplementary resource to the district.
The Foundation committee is made up of the following: school board vice-president serves as chair, two other school board members, the Superintendent, and three other members of the district staff and faculty.
The current committee members are Laci Engelbrecht, chair, Brenda Kauffman, secretary, Linda Sapp, Gary Westermeyer, Rhoda Vortman, Roxanne Filson, and Lawrence Coultas.

What We do.
A scholarship program is provided by the Foundation for our graduating seniors each year.  Seniors must apply and the amount has been increased this year to $1000.  Applicants planning to attend college/university, vocational school or any other continuing education are eligible.
In addition, requests are considered to purchase supplies and materials outside of the districtʼs budget for the benefit of the education and services of students.  Read 180, a reading program for the high school, and Study Island software, used to assist in test preparation, have recently been purchased by the Foundation.

News.

The committee has agreed to assist the Math department in purchasing new textbooks as they work to align and revamp the math curriculum for junior high and high school.

The Foundation amended its bylaws to include a statement that the Foundationʼs funds would be used to benefit only those that reside in Bluffs School District.  This means that if the district were to one day merge, consolidate or deactivate, the funds would be protected and used to benefit those that reside in the current district boundaries.

How You Can Help.
Gifts are accepted at any time, and separate funds within the Foundation are possible in order to carry out specific wishes of a donor.
